Saturday openings
We are providing Enhanced Access service in our practice every Saturday from 9am to 12pm. The Saturday clinics are for pre-booked appointments only however you can book an appointment on the day by ringing Increased Access Service on. Please be aware that you may be asked to travel to a different practice to be seen.
Increased Access
Increased Access is a service commissioned by Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB to provide a seven day service to patients. The Greater Preston Primary Care Network is a group of 10 practices working together to deliver healthcare.
Appointments are a mixture of face to face and telephone consultations. You may be asked to travel to adifferent practice to be seen. As well as GP appointments, staff at the locality clinics will provide a range of appointments with Practice Nurses, who will be available to provide chronic disease reviews, smears, along with other Health CareProfessionals.
Your GP staff can book these appointments for you, as they would for their weekday service. When the service is open, their phone lines will divert automatically to the service, but you can also ring the Increased Access Service.
Please note
Once all availability is full, you may be directed to an alternative service, such as 111. Please also be aware that the administrative staff working at the locality surgeries do not have access to patients’ full medical records and therefore will not be able to answer queries on referrals, prescriptions, test results, private work and entries to medical records.
To provide an out of hours service, one or more of these practices will be open:
- Monday to Friday 6.30pm to 8.30pm
- Saturdays 9.00am to 5.00pm
- Sundays 9.00am to 12.00pm.
There will also be a Bank Holiday service (with the exception of Christmas Day) but the times of this may vary.
There is no facility to book or cancel appointments online for the Increased Access Service at this time. Please call your own practice if you need to cancel your appointment. Please leave your feedback here.
